- Family Health Services (FHS) section of DPH specializes in many dynamic public health nursing programs and includes Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care, Rx 4 Kids, Children Screening, Assessment, Referral and Treatment, Black Infant Health, and Maternal Child and Adolescent Health.
- The California Children's Services (CCS) section of DPH is a statewide program that arranges, directs, and pays for medical care, equipment, and rehabilitation, when these services are authorized for children and young adults under 21 years of age, who have CCS-eligible medical conditions and whose families are unable to pay for all or part of their care.
- Public Health Nurse Certification:RNs mustpossess a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Nursing to apply for California Public Health Nurse certification.
