- Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper.
- Counselors are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out daily activities related to weekly themes that fulfill the mission of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina and our Summer Day Camp. Counselors exemplify and foster our core values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and faith which promote healthy youth development through strengthening campers' spirit, mind, and body.
- You will be tasked with helping kids have the best summer of their lives in a safe environment.
- As a counselor in our Summer Day Camp for grades K-8, you will help campers make new friends; keep them safe both physically and mentally; build positive relationships with their families; lead large and small group games; teach reading lessons, STEM, and character development; sing songs; swim; encourage personal fitness, and lead devotions.
- Selected candidates must be able to attend the Association Camp Training on Saturday June 1, 2024.
