- The Substitute Principal serves as the interim educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe and positive learning environment that meets the mission of the school, approved curricular, and state learning standards.
- Achieving academic excellence requires that the Substitute Principal work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the school staff hired by the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education, and to communicate effectively with parents.
- Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, professional development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, budget, and facility operations.
- Advise the Superintendent, Board Secretary/Business Administrator, and Director of Facilities of any need for necessary school building repairs
- Communicate school safety and security plan to staff, parents, and students
