- Under the general supervision of the Periop Director and Sterile Processing Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for guiding instrument processing technicians and developing and implementing systems that cost-effectively support clinical operations without compromising the quality of patient care.
- The Team Leader of Central Sterile Processing not only demonstrates competency to perform all sterile processing tasks and knowledge of the principle of sterile processing technique, material handling and proper operation and repair of sterilization equipment, but also takes a lead in ensuring safety standards are met.
- This includes knowledge of safety issues as they relate to instrument processing (i.e. physical and chemical regulations, infection control), a crucial aspect of our operations that we trust our Team Leader to uphold.
