- Lilac City Behavioral Services is seeking a highly qualified and motivated teacher for our second special education program Lilac Learning Center in Tacoma, WA. This second location of our one-of-a-kind WA program serves students with moderate to severe disabilities with an instructional focus on communication skills, adaptive behavior, life skills and community-based instruction.
- The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing the special curricular trajectory and goal management for each student they are assigned as well as overseeing and training staff to the students goal procedures while reporting to the Site Director.
- Ability to physically respond to physically active and aggressive children, adolescents, and young adults.
- This job requires the ability to run and walk for a minimum of 5 minutes, escort a student for a minimum of 5 minutes, and be able to climb a six foot fence.
- Environmental Exposures: potential exposure to secretions, saliva, blood, urine, and feces; thereby, potentially at risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens
