- The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for directing and managing occupational safety, health and industrial hygiene functions within the Red Hill Program.
- Provides Safety oversight that includes a minimum of one Competent Person at the project site to function as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
- The SSHO or an equally qualified Designated Representative/alternate shall always be on-site when work is being performed to implement and administer the Contractor's safety program and government.
- The SSHO reports directly to the Program Manager/Site Manager and indirectly to Corporate Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Director.
- The SSHO shall have completed three (3) years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity in the past or three (3) years’ experience if they possess a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree.
