- TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminumPlasma cutting and oxy-propane cuttingPerforming weld tests including soap and air, hydrostatic pressure testing tanks, and dye penetrantAssemble 40' x 10' steel plates, angles, and flange platesComplete layouts using drawings and/or templatesTack welding with stick and semi-automatic welding equipment (preferred)Practice proper safety always proceduresFollow instructions from foreman/supervisors on site and keep job site clean.
- Operate heavy machinery, industrial welding torches, and sharp pieces of metal for prolonged periods of time.
- Drive forklifts across the shipyard to transport large quantities of heavy equipment or materials to their assignment or to other workers.
- Operate in isolation within the skeleton of ships, wearing heavy protective gear and carrying equipment weighing between 40 to 50lbs.
