- Shipper actPRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Receive assignments and instructions from supervisor - both verbal and written.
- Dismantle transformer for shipment (arrestors, radiators, bushings, conservators, etc.)
- Drain oil, vacuum fill with dry air, nitrogen or oil as required and pressure test transformer tank.
- Package components and transformer parts for shipment· Prepare railroad car and/or truck for loading transformer unit and components· Clean tank prior to final paint· Load transformer unit to railcars or trucks· Prepare shipping materials as required (blocking, tie rods, etc.)
- Materials used in this position include tanks, covers, current transformers, tap changers, gear assemblies, oil gauges, pressure gauge, cabinets, housings, bushings, operating mechanisms, finished transformers, flanges, lightning arrestors, wood, steel rod, nitrogen and others.
