PDS Tech Commercial is hiring local Shipfitters and skilled tradesmen to join an industry leading team in Sturgeon Bay, WI. In this role, not only will you be working for an industry leader in the maritime industry, but you will also have the opportunity to accelerate your career in the skilled trades. Prior shipyard experience is a plus but is not required. Pay: Competitive hourly pay of $29 - $33/hour (commensurate with experience)  Shift: All shifts available Contract Length: ongoing - ability to be hired as permanent employee As a Shipfitter, your expertise in Tack Welding will be put to the test as you work with precision and efficiency on large fleet maritime vessels. Previous shipyard/welding experience is a plus as all candidates will need to successfully complete required shipfitter/tack weld tests to meet our stringent quality standards. Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to): <ul><li> Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes. </li><li> Align and fit parts according to specifications. </li><li> Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units, following blueprints. </li><li> Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components. </li><li> Tack-weld fitted parts together. </li><li> Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches. </li></ul> What Do We Want to Know About You? We're looking for candidates who possess: High school degree or equivalent. <ul><li>2-4+ years of experience </li><li> Ability to read and understand blueprints along with 3D prints/schematics </li><li> Physically able to lift 50 pounds – inclusive of walking/climbing stairs </li><li> Comfortable working in smaller/enclosed spaces within the ship </li></ul> Are you ready to build a new career with PDS?
