- The Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance network, or CHAMPS, is a global health surveillance network aimed at preventing childhood mortality in developing countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia. CHAMPS is a global surveillance network funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that generates and shares accurate cause of death data on child mortality enabling scientists and public health leaders around the world to take action.
- CHAMPS is envisioned to be a long-term surveillance program targeting countries with high rates of children under 5 years old mortality in South-East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
- CHAMPS has ongoing surveillance activities at nine sites in South Africa, Mali, Mozambique, Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, and Nigeria.
- The CHAMPS Senior Financial Analyst will assist in major activities including site financial reporting and invoice processing, contracting, and forecasting activities; ensure compliance in the Program Office, with sub awardees, and at sites (ARM-CHAMPS, Data to Action, Malaria Adult MITS, HIV and other internal sub-awards as needed).
- This position formally sits on the Business Operations team and reports to the Director of Finance and Grants.
