- Under the direction of a Principal, the Custodial Coordinator or Plant Supervisor, organizes, coordinates and participates in the custodial work of an assigned school plant; serves as liaison between the custodial staff and supervisor and makes recommendations regarding custodial methods and standards; performs custodial duties, general maintenance and minor non-technical repair work; assists in training and provides work direction to Custodians.
- A Senior Custodian is a lead person who works closely with the school Principal, the Custodial Coordinator or the Plant Supervisor in planning the activities and work schedule of the custodial staff.
- The class of Senior Custodian is distinguished from the class of Plant Supervisor in that the latter has formal supervisory responsibility (i.e. preparing evaluations) and is responsible for planning and organizing the work of a crew, while incumbents in the class of Senior Custodian have minimal supervisory responsibilities (i.e. training, inspecting work).
- The number of vacation days earned progressively increases as provided in the RUSD-CSEA Agreement, Appendix A. Part-time employees earn vacation benefits prorated on the average number of hours worked per day per month in their regular assignments.
- Employees who transfer from another California school district, including a county superintendent of schools office, who have accrued sick leave may transfer it to this District.
