- Summary of Key Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Facilities Custodial Manager, custodians perform cleaning and/or general maintenance duties in offices, event and meeting rooms, lounges, hallways, stairways, corridors, elevators, outside steps, terraces, patios, window sills, trash, mirrors, moving and arranging furniture and equipment, polishing and waxing furniture, brass and other types of decoration materials, and the removal and disposal of trash from receptacles.
- Incumbents typically sweep, mop, wax, dust, clean, and/or polish floors, stone walls, moldings, woodwork, light fixtures, vents, and locker rooms, disinfect restrooms, with responsibility for deodorizing trash and public, replenishing supplies, wash doors, partition glass, mirrors, showcases, glass panels, inside and outside windows.
- Clean kitchen floors, and drains, vacuum rugs, and draperies, operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall washing machines, shampoo carpet machines, wet/dry vacuums, wax floor scrubbing and /or polishing machines during stripping, waxing, buffing, and/or other related cleaning operations, and/or other designated public or private areas of a campus facility and perform other related duties as required.
- Under supervision, incumbents perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning, housekeeping, and/or general maintenance duties, for the majority of their time which require a greater degree of training, skill, independence of action, physical effort, and/or experience than that typically found at the Custodian level.
- Qualifications: Requires 6+ Months of custodial experience that includes manual cleaning, and operation of floor cleaning/ carpet shampooing equipment.
