- As a member of our Space Environmental Effects Engineering group, you will join a hardworking team of engineers and scientists who work to ensure that APL’s spacecraft and space instruments survive in, operate through, and collect accurate scientific data of the space environments they encounter.
- Providing technical guidance to contamination and related processes including thermal vacuum test, precision cleaning, cleanliness verification, flight hardware handling, spacecraft integration and test, and spacecraft launch activities in order to meet mission goals
- Have a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Materials Engineering, or a related science/engineering field.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in Contamination Engineering for space flight programs, including mission formulation through launch readiness.
- Have extensive domain knowledge of vacuum bakeout, outgassing testing, precision cleaning, and cleanliness verification processes on spaceflight hardware.
