- Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, shall perform professional engineering services with a predominate focus on utility engineering; is responsible for leading and/or participating in the planning, budgeting, contract management, public relations, design, and construction administration of assigned utility capital
- May Serve as City Engineer in his or her absence.
- Leads the city’s efforts to comply with MS4 and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Phase II requirements.
- May serve as project manager for assigned capital improvement projects; manages and/or oversees design, public involvement, environmental, right of way, utility coordination, bidding, construction, inspection, and close out phases of utility (sanitary, storm, and domestic potable water) and site civil projects.
- Provides significant assistance to the engineering team within the plan review & approval processes of private commercial and residential development projects; reviews plats, easements, stormwater drainage calculations, Stormwater pollution prevention plans, site grading plans, water and waste water capacities, metering and backflow requirements and other associated studies, calculations, reports, and specifications.
