- For example, our Medicine to MICU/SDU Pathway Program offers professional development opportunities for Nurses who aspire to be Critical Care Nurses in YNHH's Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Step-Down Unit (SDU).
- tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, blood transfusions, central line maintenance, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, administration of continuous infusions, phlebotomy, EKG, wound irrigation, wound care management, restraint care, utilization of warming devices, urinary catheter maintenance, wound vac therapy, pain management pumps, oxygen therapy, Bipap management, ventilators, brace applications, and care for a variety of access devices
- Newly-licensed nurses, hired full or part-time, within 1 year of graduation and/or less than 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse will participate in the YNHHS Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program.
- This one-year Nurse Residency Program was developed by the Chief Nursing Officers of the University Health System Consortium (UHC), now Vizient, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for new graduate nurses.
