- Job Description RESEARCH SCIENTIST, IN SITU SINGLE MOLECULE PROTEIN SEQUENCING, McGovern Institute for Brain Research -, to join a lab that develops cutting-edge methods for mapping, analyzing, and controlling the brain.
- Will report to the director of the Synthetic Neurobiology group and develop new chemistry and chemical engineering protocols, requiring synthetic and analytical chemistry and/or chemical engineering skills, for single molecule protein sequencing; and adapt, optimize, and validate new expansion microscopy (ExM) variants so that such sequencing procedures can occur in situ.
- Will be involved in the design and development of such chemical and chemical engineering technologies as well as validation
- collaborating with others
- of the developed technologies using optical imaging, fluorescence microscopy, and super-resolution imaging; help teach and deploy such technologies into collaborating labs; assist with grant and manuscript writing; and help collaborating students and postdocs with their research.
