- Prepare a paper for publication which quantifies the seasonal evolution of the surface mixed layer in response to air-sea fluxes and sea-ice growth and decay in East Antarctic polynyas.
- Coastal polynyas dominate the production of the dense shelf water that contributes to Antarctic Bottom Water formation.
- In this paper, recent analyses within the Prydz Bay region will be extended across East Antarctic polynyas, to examine the regional (spatial and temporal) variability in seasonal DSW formation including the role and contribution from less active and/or smaller polynyas.
- Disseminate research results in high impact, peer-reviewed literature, at national and international meetings, and through seminars to colleagues and collaborators.
