- The Center for Aquaculture Technology (CAT) is working to deliver revolutionary genetic improvement to aquaculture to help sustainably feed the world.
- We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Research Associate to commercialize genome editing technologies in aquaculture.
- The successful candidate will implement commercial scale gene modifications (knockout, knock-in, and allele replacement) on location at aquaculture facilities, and at the CAT-San Diego laboratory.
- Laboratory duties will include detection of modifications by PCR/qPCR, analyses of fish growth and gene expression, and generation and handling of next generation sequencing data.
- Knowledge and experience in molecular biology techniques including genotyping, PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, primer design, qPCR, and in vitro RNA synthesis.
