- General DescriptionThe Maternal Child Health RN is responsible and accountable to a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to the patients via therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration and integration with other health care team members.
- S/he will triage patients and complete a medical screening exam on every woman and fetus to prioritize emergent or urgent care requirements.
- S/he functions in the role of a primary RN the following areas: Maternal Child Health: Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother- Baby and GYN patients.
- Measurement Criteria The priority of data collection is determined by the patient's immediate condition or needs.
- Rationale: The Registered Nurse is the most appropriate health care provider at GRMC for ensuring that actions are taken to meet the physical, mental, and health education needs of the patient.
