ABOUT THE POSITION: To be a part of a team responsible for the operation of Substance Use specialty treatment in OTP, Department of Correction; also Womens Center for Excellence Residential Program New Life (women and young children) and Milestone Intensive Residential for Women. By: <ul><li>Providing quality treatment while working with the team to provide support to clients with addictions and/or co-occurring disorders. </li> <li>Participating in case reviews, planning, and coordination of care. </li> <li>Working with MD/APRN to ensure technical processes and protocols related to Methadone dosing and medication self-administration in OTP and residential settings. </li> <li>Embraces and promotes harm-reduction model of treatment. </li> <li>Provides education to staff and clients about wellness, disease management and prevention. </li> </ul>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Perform initial nursing assessments and document ongoing assessments of patients response to treatment. </li> <li>Responsible for accurate input of computer data. </li> <li>Execute the medical and medication regimen of care as prescribed by the physician/APRN </li> <li>Provides clients with daily methadone doses and prescribed take-home doses. </li> <li>Monitor urine toxicology screens and breathalyzers. </li> <li>Administer PPD tests or screens. </li> <li>Educate the patient/family toward an understanding of healthy living. </li> <li>Respond to medical/psychiatric emergency needs of patients, following CHR policies and procedures. </li> <li>Adhere to the standards for Medication Assisted Treatment and Substance Use Residential Programs as maintained by DPH, DMHAS, Joint Commission, D.E.A., and the U.S. Federal Government. </li> <li>Monitoring of methadone stock and ordering as described in CHR policies and all regulatory bodies. </li> <li>Restocking methadone supply upon delivery. </li> <li>Communicate with treatment team regarding patient status and progress. </li> <li>Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards. </li> <li>Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned. </li> <li>Assists LPNs by providing training, and oversight as needed. </li> <li>Additional duties as required. </li> </ul>QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Degree in Nursing. Experience: Experience in substance use preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in the State of Connecticut required, Certification in CPR, and must have a valid drivers license. Training: Upon hire. COMPENSATION*: $76,924.00 /annually min.-$115,386.00 /annually max., dependent upon experience. *Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy.
