The Registered Dietitian will collaborate with an obesity medicine physician to help patients achieve their health and weight management goals with an emphasis on a whole-foods-based diet, behavior change psychology, and guided physical activity.</p>
<p>The Registered Dietitian will be required to travel to other clinical sites.</p>

<h3>Position Summary</h3>
<p>Assess, plan, implement and monitor patient nutrition while actively engaging in providing nutritional education, information, services, and guidance to advise patients on food, diet, and nutrition by developing treatment plans.</p>
<h3>Position Key Accountabilities</h3>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Performs nutrition screening, evaluation and assessment for patients.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Counsels program participants on basic and/or high-risk nutritional need based on certifications criteria and determines follow up continuity of care.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Provides medical nutrition therapy to meet patient goals.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develops educational material and tools and teaches nutrition education classes following the class module and schedule as described in the Annual Nutrition Education Plan.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Markets, promotes, and raises awareness about nutrition services through communication with area health professionals.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Charting and keeping records to monitor patient progress.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Conducts and ensures clinical nutrition documentation for patients is accurate, informative and timely, including assessment for new admissions as appropriate, reassessment, food/drug interactions, and specialized nutrition support as needed.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Monitors industry trends, new products, current research, and new programs in medical nutrition therapy and food service and incorporates into his/her work as needed.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Participates in nutrition seminars, workshops, etc., to ensure continuing education in various areas of nutrition science.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>May assist with teaching activities in diabetes education program.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develops additional nutritional programs to address needs of patient population.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>May assist with projects including but not limited to data collection and patient recruitment.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>Certification/Skills:</p>
<p>Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics</p>
<p>Maintains dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and state licensure regulations where applicable.</p>
<h3>Minimum Education</h3>
<p>Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition by an accredited or approved education program.</p>

<h3>Physical Requirements</h3>
<p>Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.</p>
