- Conducts safety meetings and determines the need for training sessions for railroad employees regarding proper and safe inspection and maintenance procedures for track and other roadway facilities.
- Participates in investigations of critical train accidents that result in serious injury to people or property damage that occurs on the railroad line of any carrier engaged in interstate or foreign commerce; determines probable cause of an accident or incident and whether any Federal regulations were violated.
- U.S. Army Locomotive Engineer/Conductor License.
- Inspect and monitor functions of railroad track and structures in an assigned territory to ensure compliance with Federal safety and health regulations.
- Create and lead implementation of an inspection program to provide the greatest coverage of the railroad track network.
