- The Radiation Therapist is responsible for treating cancer patients using radiation therapy prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
- The Radiation Therapist collaborates with the radiation oncologist to develop treatment plans and administer radiation therapy to their patients.
- The Radiation Therapist uses professional judgment and critical thinking when assisting with treatment planning, recognizing and resolving equipment problems and treatment discrepancies, anticipating patient needs and concerns, and determining when treatment should be withheld until a physician can be consulted.
- o Provide individualized radiation therapy treatments to patients in consultation with the oncology team.
- o Ensure effective and safe delivery of radiation therapy to help combat cancer and improve patients’ wellbeing.
