- Under the direction of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Shift Sergeant, the Public Safety Assistant (PSA) is a uniformed, unarmed position responsible for providing physical security to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) Reservation and all its tribal citizens, employees, customers, facilities, operations, and assets, including the Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel.
- Responsible for casino related security details, such as chip-fills, special audits, cash dispensary unit operations, etc.
- Conducts fixed post security and operates access control gates in the Yaamava' Resort and Casino, Tribal Reservation, and off-reservation properties.
- They will train Public Safety Assistant's on their designated shift assignment and may be asked to teach periodically at the Training Center and or in Shift Briefings.
- This includes, but is not limited to, Forbes customer service, chemical agent (Pepper Gel), first aid, CPR, traffic and pedestrian movement control, security details, applicable policies and procedures, and access control duties.
