- Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years.
- A simulated patient is supervised and directed by the course instructor and is not involved in assessment activities.
- Their position is to perform as a simulated patient during practical examinations based on standardized repeatable patient cases which will be provided to them in advance of the test date.
- Serve as a “patient” during practical exam assessments which will involve a simulated patient case, in which the “patient” will be coached on the presentation, actions and responses to ensure consistency in the assessment process.
- This may involve the “patient” being subject to treatment interventions including but not limited to the use of therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, manual therapies, cervical and/or lumbar traction, therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training with/without assistive devices and patient education regarding disease processes and rehabilitation.
