- The Project Engineer is primarily responsible for managing a variety of civil engineering tasks as it relates to the project management of private and public works projects including but not limited to: project scoping, design and plan review, project budgeting and tracking, construction management, cost estimates, and obtaining easements and right-of-way.
- Responsible for providing direction to the Engineering Plan Review and Records Specialist, Stormwater Specialist, GIS Staff, and Administrative Staff on issues related to assigned projects.
- Serve as project engineer/manager for all phases of project development, design, construction and project closeout for public works projects (both City and private development).
- Develop, write, prepare, review, update, coordinate, and maintain City design guidelines, standards, specifications, bid documents and standard details for drainage and flood control, roadways, alleys, sidewalks, trails, bicycle facilities, potable water systems, sanitary sewer systems and other municipal infrastructure.
- Design and manage plan preparation for roadways, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, drainage systems and other municipal infrastructure through professional consultants.
