- General Description / Primary Purpose The Program Coordinator for Gear Checkout & Adventure Trips is a salaried position, part of the professional staff team in the department of Recreation and Wellness at the University of North Florida.
- This position works in the Eco Adventure unit and prioritizes safety and effective communication to accomplish these primary responsibilities: organize and lead multi-day outdoor adventure trips in the wilderness in various outdoor activities: primitive camping and backpacking trips from 2-12 days, rock climbing with top rope and lead experience, kayaking, canoeing, paddle board and skiing expeditions with groups of students.
- Obtain and maintain certifications as the primary safety officer (American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED, Red Cross Instructor-level, Wilderness First Responder, Single Pitch Instructor) Management of Gear Checkout Staff & Program Maintain all outdoor gear with the assistance of part-time staff.
- Faculty Position Required Qualifications n/a Departmental Requirements Availability: Must be able to work evening and weekend hours based on program and Auditory Abilities: Must be able to meet aspects of responsibilities outlined for managing and communicating with staff, planning and conducting adventure trips, programming student events/programs.
