- The Policy Officer on the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) team in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI) work with team lead to ensure WPS principles are integrated into U.S. foreign policy efforts, principally by coordinating policy initiatives in consultation with other Department offices, government agencies, and non-governmental stakeholders to advance the objectives of the US Women, Peace, and Security Strategy.
- Provides policy direction to public diplomacy initiatives and foreign assistance planning efforts, including grantee selection, on efforts that advance the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) agenda.
- Attend engagements with external audiences on U.S. foreign policy, gender, and security issues by serving in speaking functions, attending conferences, and meeting with relevant civil society actors.
- Supports content development for Department messaging on gender and security issues, from WPS specific content to integrating gender into other opportunities.
