- The Board of Fire and Police Commission will create a second eligibility list of candidates who have previously been full-time sworn officers of a regular police department in any municipality, county, university or state law enforcement agency provided they are certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board and have been with their respective law enforcement agency within the State of Illinois for at least two (2) years.
- 2-5 years as a Police Officer will be hired at the Step 2 wage rate of the FOP Contract ($89,852.88 for 2024)
- 5 or more years as a Police Officer will be hired at the Step 3 wage rate of the FOP Contract ($96,253.87 for 2024)
- In addition to the traditional patrol and investigative functions of a suburban law enforcement agency, our department is also able to sustain a great number of positions in specialty assignments and collateral duties only typically seen in larger departments.
