- The Plumber inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems to preserve the safe functioning and quality of all systems throughout the facilities.
- Repairs panels, partitions and other building structures; installs building parts and cuts, shapes and fastens materials such as wood, plastic, ceiling tile, fiberglass and drywall to make ready for installation; may erect or repair building frames; performs carpentry work using tools such as, but not limited to chisels, planes, saws and drills; installs and changes locks.
- Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as valves, faucets, traps, sewers and vents; bends, cuts, reams and threads pipe and opens holes in walls for pipes; secures and supports sanitary fixtures; connects piping with fittings and adhesives; performs soldering as necessary; opens clogged drains with plungers and other devices; inspects piping for leaks both visually and using pressure gauges.
- Repairs leaky or old building roofs; locates source of roof leaks; removes existing roof surfaces; lays roofing paper and applies coating and adhesives to seal the leaking and/or old area.
- Conduct backflow preventer test in conjunction with security.
