- WCD manages and operates Fairfax County's wastewater collection system, consisting of nearly 3,400 miles of pipe, over 100,000 associated structures, 57 metering sites, and 70 pumping stations.
- Performs maintenance and repair on various types of specialized machinery located in waste pumping stations including pumps, electric motors, blowers, gasoline and diesel engines, generators, air compressors, sewage grinders, trash grinders, and other screening and repairs to include the use of shop tools and equipment grinders, drill press, general power tools, hydraulic pulling equipment, and acetylene torches.
