- The purpose of this position is to provide advanced technical assistance and analysis related to City planning initiatives, land development applications, and zoning enforcement.
- This is accomplished by reviewing and processing various land development applications; preparing plans, reports, studies, and analyses pertaining to long-range planning concerns; acting as a zoning enforcement officer for the City; collecting and maintaining current and long-range planning data; assisting the general public; and providing staff support to various boards and commissions as needed.
- Serve as primary staff support to the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) by accepting and reviewing applications for Certificates of Appropriateness (COA); preparing HPC meeting agendas; preparing and presenting staff reports; attending HPC meetings; providing public notice; reviewing Minor Works COA's; administering the Facade Improvement Grant program; and maintaining databases.
- Assist in pursuance of grants related to historic preservation.
- Respond to inquiries from and provide technical assistance to the general public, property owners, and professionals in matters related to historic preservation practices and regulations.
