- The center's advanced technology includes pencil-beam scanning for intensity modulated proton therapy and cone beam CT imaging - designed to treat tumors with pinpoint precision.
- SCOPE: The proton physicists assist the Director of Physics in general medical physics duties pertaining to the operation of the proton radiation therapy clinic.
- This includes, but is not limited to, complex PBS treatment plan optimization and assessment, patient immobilization evaluation and implementation, radiation protection safety and survey, machine and patient specific quality assurance.
- The proton physicist will support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Performs daily, monthly and annual calibrations for all proton therapy equipment following the international standard of IAEA TRS-398 protocol as outlined in the Center's Medical Physics QA procedures and policies.
