- West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute 's Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery are actively recruiting a board certified/eligible cardiothoracic surgeon (ranks available Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) with a specialty interest in Adult Cardiac Surgery.
- Successful candidate must have completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program, as well as a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program.
- The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others.
- The Health System operates West Virginia's first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children's Hospital in September 2022.
- Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
