- The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics have initiated a national search to identify candidates to serve as the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine to support all clinical, educational, scholarly, and administrative activities of the division.
- Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse group, work with the hospital and academic department partners using a collaborative approach, mentor junior faculty and have business skills, including financial budgeting and resource management.
- The PCCU is a referral unit for hospitals in the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley.
- The unit offers highly specialized services such as mechanical cardiac support, including Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS), Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), complex modes of mechanical ventilation, solid organ transplantations (heart, liver, kidney) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
- The PCCU also houses a section for Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU), which delivers highly specialized services to patients with complex congenital heart diseases after open-heart surgery or admitted with a critical illness that compromises their cardiac physiology.
