- The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in performing his/her distributive and professional duties.
- Responsibilities include assisting in the dispensing of drugs, transport and delivery of drugs, repackaging of drugs, charging and crediting of medications, operation and restocking of automated dispensing devices, batch processing and labeling of IV additives, restocking of medications and non-drug supplies, sales of Rx and OTC products to employees, answering the telephone and responding to staff requests at the inpatient and outpatient/employee windows.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S): The pharmacy technician must have a high school or GED diploma.
- Compassion: Serve every person with empathy, dignity, and compassion.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers.
