- The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible to assist the health care professional by performing various care activities and related nonclinical services.
- Provides assistance to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the delivery of patient care including caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient and family unit in a professional, courteous, supportive manner, under the general supervision of the Patient Care Manager or his/her designee.
- Assists the RN/LPN with non-nursing tasks such as but not limited to crash cart checks, quality control checks, retrieving equipment/supplies, keeping the department clean and stocking of supplies.
- Recognizes and practices within scope of certification and competency levels and relays any questions, concerns or situations requiring follow-up or attention to the supervising RN/LPN and seeks assistance when necessary.
- High School diploma or GED and completion of an approved State Registered Nursing Assistant Program such as (SRNA), (STNA), (CNA) or other state.
