- The Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) under the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) invites applications for two experienced, doctorate-level faculty biostatistician Open Rank Professors.
- The PHS department is the home to diverse data science faculty from biostatistics, bioinformatics, and clinical informatics who collaborate across disciplinary boundaries towards the shared mission of bringing people and information together to improve health for all through innovation, data-driven discovery, and transdisciplinary education.
- Research interests of the faculty include translational science, clinical- and population-based investigation, the application of epidemiological and biostatistical principles to clinical problem solving, formulation of health policy, and new analytic methods for adaptive clinical trial design, health equity/disparity, analysis of electronic health record data, bioinformatics, and deep neural networks.
- For candidates interested in cancer research, there are research opportunities with the Mays Cancer Center, one of four NCI-designated Cancer Centers in Texas and the only NCI designated center in South Texas.
