- Maintains all aspects of the Oncology Data Registry (Cancer Registry) according to state law, the Commission on Cancer (COC), all regulatory standards and reporting guidelines.
- Performs all data collection, coding, and abstracting functions in accordance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the state Cancer Registry guidelines.
- Performs statistical data analysis and graphical presentation for registry data studies including data requests for Patient Care Evaluation studies and the Annual Report; provides information and meeting preparation for Cancer Committee and subcommittees, with responsibility for all aspects of Cancer conferences (Tumor Boards) including case selection and preparation of agendas; is responsible for accurate reporting of all required information to the state’s Central Cancer Registry.
- Maintains a current knowledge of cancer treatment, research and Cancer Registry requirements and acts as a knowledge resource to staff.
- Requires an Associate degree in Health Information (RHIT or RHIA) or health related field, Including coursework in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, statistical analysis and disease processes or equivalent working knowledge.
