- As the safety manager, you will engage with several managers and technical staff throughout the agency to effectively embed occupational health and safety principles in their routine job duties.
- This position will report to the agency deputy director and manages the internal occupational safety and health program for ADEQ.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ADEQ, ADOSH laws, ordinances, rules and regulations on occupational safety and health; of principles and practices of budget preparation and administration; of principles and techniques of employee training; of principles of hazardous materials and waste management, RCRA and OSHA classifications; of safety compliance and general liability risk management issues.
- At least 5 years of program management experience in safety, accident prevention, environmental health, industrial hygiene or occupational risk management.
- Experience with continuous improvement, including Lean, Six Sigma, and others is preferred.
