- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates therapeutic respiratory intervention to patients requiring critical care services for acute and chronic cardio-pulmonary disease.
- Therapeutic modalities include airway management, blood gas sampling, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, administration of medical gases and pharmacological agents to the tracheobronchial tree, complete ventilator management, and participation in hemodynamic monitoring.
- With Pulmonary Council and Respiratory Care Department approval, performs elective and emergency intubations, insertion of arterial lines, and bedside disposable bronchoscopies.
- Require an active State of Florida licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) under Florida Statutes, Chapter 468.
- Require American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire.
