- Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center/Fort Buford State Historic Site is part of North Dakota State Historical Society and is along to the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.
- This institute has actively worked to create space and interpretive programming on the inclusive history and culture of the confluence region of the Upper Missouri including Fort Buford State Historic Site through exhibits, displays, living history and special events.
- This intern program, sponsored by the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, is designed to help with the interpretation and history of this upper Missouri story, Fort Buford and all related to its history.
- Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail was designated by Congress to commemorate the 1803 to 1806 Corps of Discovery expedition.
