- Hearst Television is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, creative, innovative, and thoughtful investigative correspondent to help lead our National Investigative Unit. This unit has the unique responsibility of developing and owning original stories of national relevance while highlighting and delivering the local impact across our markets.
- The Correspondent works closely with local stations, offering guidance and collaborating on local and national investigative coverage.
- The Correspondent will also work closely with the Washington News Bureau, which is responsible for daily coverage of politics, breaking news, and special events.
- Candidates for the role of National Investigative Correspondent should be focused on fact-based journalism that gives deeper context on big stories and relevant topics while incorporating transparency as part of the reporting.
- Candidates must have a deep understanding of investigative journalism; be a skilled storyteller who can find unique angles, think outside the box, and deliver the real impact on viewers from an issue or problem; have experience developing high-level sources; be skilled at navigating public records and public records requests; be an effective communicator with exceptional time-management skills and a collaborative leader who thrives in a team environment where every voice is heard.
