- Responsible for the production, overhaul and repair of D.C. Induction Motors including: visual electrical and mechanical inspection, tests (resistance measurement of D.C. induction components), cleaning of apparatus, drying (over/vacuum), retests, re-insulates, (vacuum pressure impregnation as required), bearings installation and lubrication, and spin testing.
- Performs daily and routine operation through the use of standard shop equipment e.g., coupling/bearing press or pullers (manual, hydraulic, pneumatic), insulation testers (meggers, ohmmeters, or other related devices), induction heaters, ovens, oxygen acetylene torches, paint booth, abrasive blast equipment, upenders (or other similar devices to sure motor), and basic tools, test instrument/equipment associated with State-of-the-Art development.
- Repairs, maintains, and prepares for overhaul rapid transit D.C. Induction type equipment and systems D.C. Induction motors and major propulsion related control devices, in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operation manuals, procedures, and manufacturers' maintenance/overhaul instructions.
