- Manages the Sterile Processing Activities which includes case cart preparation sterilization, reprocessing, packaging, and delivery of surgical and patient care instrumentation and equipment used in the operating rooms in the Central Region.
- Additionally, manages the sterilization, production and delivery of instruments to other departments, such as Ambulatory Surgery, the Cardiac Catherization Lab, Angiography, clinics, Emergency Departments and general and acute Nursing Units.
- Maintains quality control standards, ensuring that established aseptic, sterile and infection control techniques and procedures are followed.
- The relationship with other DMC regions is collaborative in the standardization of practices, policies, procedures and techniques for the entire Central Sterile Processing function across the system; recommends changes as appropriate.
- Monitors the quality and quantity of work flow of Materials Management Coordinators and union Instrument and Central Supply Associates to ensure work is completed.
