- Patient care responsibilities to include patient education, obtaining prior medical history, patient care coordination, completing all required scheduling for patient testing as well as allergy testing and allergy immunizations under supervision, ordering allergy supplies, stocking rooms & inventory of clinical supplies.
- Provides appropriate follow-up to patients, making referrals to outside sources for X-rays, labs, PET Scans, MRI/CT, cardiac or medical clearance for surgical procedures, home health agencies and obtaining medication authorizations as well as prior authorizations for procedures and allergy testing or treatment.
- Coordinate appointments with other specialists such as radiation oncology, pulmonology, endocrinology, nutritional counseling or social services consultation.
- Coordinates patients date of surgery with surgery scheduler.
- Calls patients from reception area and prepare patients for examination such as taking vital signs, reconcile allergy lists, medication lists, and smoking status of patients and documenting in the electronic health record.
