- It is the duty of this Mate to look for potential hazards and means of preventing incidents onboard the LSV. The other mate is responsible for the deck maintenance of the vessel.
- The Mate is responsible for, stop work authority intervention, safety meetings, adherence to PPE, ensuring PTWS are followed and complete, marking of hazardous areas, first aid kit, spot checking of work being performed for compliance, housekeeping of vessel, safety inspection findings, safety data sheets and log upkeep, lashing equipment, shackles, straps, wire, paint locker store dates, vessel response plan, vessel general permit, routine maintenance on LSV equipment
- Refer to Procurement Process (IMS-QMS-Section 8) The upkeep and maintenance of the vessel Integrated management System Vessel stores inventory levels Vessels preventive maintenance system for deck Other duties as assigned by the Captain
