Oversees pharmacy operations to ensure pharmacy requirements are met.  Oversees department job functions and ensures department operates within budget.  Establishes and implements departmental policies and procedures. Initiates and follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Consults with physicians and other clinicians to provide expertise on all pharmacy related issues. Analyzes and reports pharmacological and disease management information. Provides hematology/oncology clinical analysis expertise to physicians and clinical staff. Conducts pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities:<ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Researches and performs critical and statistical analysis of medical and scientific evidence as the basis for disease management guidelines and pharmacoeconomic comparisons of cancer therapies and regimens in coordination with the Corporate Office, develops pharmacoeconomic models for cancer treatment alternatives for case rating, capitation forecasts, and cost of goods sold reductions.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Develops and directs the implementation of Drug Management.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Process Improvement Program for assigned network. Coordinates Disease Management partnership implementation and follow-up.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Oversees pharmacy services in accordance with governmental, legal requirements, and other regulatory standards.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Develops departmental goals and objectives in consultation with administration. Establishes and implements departmental policies and procedures.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Prepares budget and financial reports. Monitors the allocation of resources. Monitors and informs staff of new drug regulations.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Establishes charging and billing procedures. Assumes responsibility for dispensing all medications. Establishes drug control procedures.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Develops drug purchasing systems. Resolves internal coordination problems and analyzes various operating reports.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Takes corrective action as necessary. Manages the selection and training/orientation of departmental personnel.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Initiates and promotes staff development. Assures proper training of all admixture technicians and pharmacists. Assumes overall responsibility for pharmacy inventory, assuring proper inventory levels, pricing, drug outages, recalls, etc.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: <ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and current state licensure. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) year of experience as a registered pharmacist, with at least two (2) year of supervisory and/or management experience preferred.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Five (5) years of experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Oncology background preferred.</li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;">Prior experience in pharmacy management. Must possess current Pharmacist licensure in state of practice.</li></ul> PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
