- Raytheons Flight Sciences department, within Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) is seeking a Senior Flight Controls Engineer to perform in the role of Lower-Stage Autopilot Lead onsite in Tucson, AZ. This position will provide expertise in flight control system design, integration support, and performance assessment for a hypersonic Strategic Missile Defense program.
- What You Will Do The Lower-Stage Autopilot Lead will apply knowledge of advanced controls & inertial sensors to flight controls design & analysis of missile performance in simulation, ground test, and flight test for the lower stages of a missile interceptor.
- You will develop missile state estimation algorithms, as well as derive algorithms and filters to compensate for flexible body, aeroservoelastic effects, and inertial coupling You will interface with the upper-stage autopilot lead and team to ensure overall system performance metrics are met Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of flight controls engineering experience.
- Experience with endo-atmospheric flight controls Experience with embedded software development, hardware/software integration, and/or validation testing of flight control software on flight hardware Experience with C/C
- Matlab and Simulink Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
