- The Line Operator has a thorough understanding of the extrusion process and is responsible for ensuring the production line is operating properly in order to meet production standard both in quality as well as quantity while helping to ensure safety standards are maintained.
- A Line Operator must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper safe and efficient operation of their production line.
- Monitors schedules and makes preparations for line changeovers, effectively performs screen changes when required, monitors product after each change, when a line is brought back into production, as well as every hour to ensure production quality standards are met, pulls rolls, properly labels and packages product which meets established quality standards, updates Sr. Line Operator throughout the shift on any scrap generated, the cause for the scrap and the corrective action
- Monitors line computers and able to recognize any wrong or dangerous conditions and instantly report those to Sr. Line Operator or Team Manager, maintains training in order to be able to shut down or start a line when needed
- Stays current and up to date on machinery for production set up as well as to troubleshoot for a variety of issues on assigned line, performs troubleshooting in order to maintain production efforts, fine tunes equipment including to but not limited to die adjustment, setting of edge pins, winder adjustments, etc.
